panPittsburgh exists to enrich the artistic substance of steelband music in the US. From elegant concert performances, to entertaining family programming and Caribbean style fun, our events bring the sound and feeling of steelband music into the lives of folks everywhere.  

panPittsburgh exists to provide innovative collaborative programs for artists and audiences brought together by a love for steelband music.  Steelbands offer quality musicianship and collective friendship. By bringing the feeling of steelband music together we are inviting artists and audiences from all over the world into our new home in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

We bring people together for a simple purpose: To enjoy good steelband music. Join us.

Our vision and mission is accomplished through three components...

Performance
We produce and present outstanding, well-rehearsed performances involving Phil Solomon and the Steel Impressions Steelband and other ensembles, specials groups that we assemble including visiting artists, ensembles and soloists.

Education
We foster the engagement and development of listeners of all ages who wish to appreciate and understand the steelpan. We offer educational programming and materials for student musicians, teachers and general audiences, who wish to understand how to perform quality steelband music.  

Culture
We maintain and revive when necessary the great traditions of steelbands: competition, jam sessions, and socializing. We also seek to establish new traditions.
